Can’t remember how much each one of MS’s standard fixes wrecks your system.1803 still works fine but I’ve always installed updates from the catalog manually and only security updates. Windows update stays disabled.Recommend upgrading to Pro, it’s definitely worth the cost, which isn’t much, to get group policy editor. Most of the garbage Home users put up with can be disabled.Tried getting Server or LTSB for similar benefits but not legally available in my locale.

14 July 2018 at 17:24Sorry I don’t have it anymore, I don’t keep all snaps because I don’t have a thousand TBs to store files 🙁 You can still build a.svm and it will read it, recognized names are: update,revit,language,kg,pack,pack1,pack2,pack3,pack4 (all.svm) in this order, which is also priority order. So you can use update.svm to store your files and settings and it will read it before others.Also, you actually can open svm files with turbo (!) So you can open my revit.svm file and see what files are inside, edit and rebuild it, even registry keys, it’s really just a package. You just can’t edit the main executable, but I made it small in these adsk releases, so you’re lucky, everything in svm file 🙂Let me know how your ‘hacking’ goes, thanks! Just to reduce the redundancy a bit, I want to convert the revit.svm into revit.dat and make all other packaged layers connect to it.So, I used Notepad to copy and paste just the registry section of snapshot.xappl from the.dat file into the snapshot.xappl from the revit.svm package. But when I run the new built I get, “ is not a valid win32 application” error.Do you know a proper way to merge the dat container inside revit.svm w/out braking it?Oh, and a few notes to optimize the package a bit more neatly:1. Please,exclude from install Autodesk Desktop App ADSKAPP in the setup.ini file.It makes no sense to have it inside the virtual package.It’s used for updating the app.2. I see too many folders as “merge” isolation mode. At least switch to “Write Copy” in Application Data directory so no orphan folders is left in th host PC when exiting the app.3.
In Windows folder, I usually remove:assemblyWinSxSand some more to keep it clean from unneeded junk.4. Please use wildcards for svms so ppl. You will have to download 11 files from the first row of links (sorry its quite a lot but huge program) then you can download “optional” packs (row 3-4) but I think it’s not that optional because they’re like core files, materials and libraries you know, it’s big files and was not much able to compress so it’s again a lot of parts you can try to run Revit without those packs if you want and see if you can do your things without those files 🙂.
