There are two ways to get a 9mm pistol. The easiest is to pick it up from the cottage in the bottom right corner of the slums. The pistol always spawns here and you can get it right after the game starts or at any other time you see fit.The second way is to lockpick police vans. Look for them on highways and bring some lockpicks.You won’t get a pistol from human enemies as they only have rifles and melee weapons. The pistol is also a crucial part for completing the Gunslinger side quest from the upper tower in the slums. The Gunslinger side quest gives you access to a pawn shop that contains two text collectibles.

Thereby it’s also a crucial part for collectible hunting. Sm has thrown a generic python exception.

I use melee only on Nightmare:) except against Rais's men.Try to shot and you'll regret it on this mode, lots of runners will track you, and if it's night all the specials then rip.

Actually, Ive been jump killing Rais's men! One kill to the head and done.

And I am ALSO in nightmare mode.What I have been spamming a lot of are the kick to the head and the jump kill in Nightmare. With a bit of patience Ill get on a car and kill the zombies one by one with the head kick.
